The person was likely kneeling like the guy was.

It is pretty easy to make something look much larger when it is 1/2 the distance that the guy is without photoshopping it. Fishermen do it all the time, they hold the fish with arms outstretched to the camera so it looks much bigger. Same principle with the pic above.

Fairly common practice for outfitters and photographers to "pose" an animal using various props in a cooler or freezer overnight to let rigor and cold take their course.

That guy could probably not be touching the deer at all and it would be in the same position.

It's pretty simple. I even saw them explain it on a "how'd they do that" segment of a hunting show once.

Take a look in the last issue of big buck magazine...inside back cover is an add for an Alberta outfitter...If you look close you can find this picture here...all bucks taken in 2006!!!
