I had to work today but will be going tomorrow.
Anyone else getting after it?
Daughter got a dozen decoys.
Didn't see the amount birds I expected today. Decoyed some woodies but saw like no teal or mallards. The vegetation seems out of control on the river this year
Seen: 14 teal, half GWT half BWT, 30 mallards, 5 wood ducks. Got a nice shot on this drake and Tucker did very well.
Bang away boys. This kid is off to bed, I've been up since 4 yesterday morning. Man I love 12 hour swing on nights.
Phan and myself were lucky enough to shoot 10 teal this mornin not as many birds around as when we scouted . Deke was happy to get a few retrieves always fun Seeing the other ducks decoy.
Found a field last night that had six geese. Went there this morning a five pack came to the four decoys. Double tapped one and missed with the third. Tucker made a 150 blind retrieve. Should of had two but this one wouldn't die.
By 07:00 I was Driving around and found a field with 26 geese.
Seen three hundred geese in the realm of no hunting, then motored out 20 minutes past the trout fisherman and goosenazi island 16 to unlucky reef. Again a five pack decoyed, got two and a decoy. Plus a cripple shot.
10:00 two BWT came from the NE, doubled with a 45 yard crossing shot using steel BBs. They were both crippled. Tucker sat until sent, then made the double retrieve.
Seen a dozen blue bills and red heads, two buffleheads and very warey black duck that took twenty minutes to swim into the decoys. Plus a flock of 30 to 40 BWT heading South and another flock of three BWT.
Did a bunch of shooting today, probably put too much pressure on all the birds for the opener. Not.
Looks like tropics
Sounds and looks like another good hunt!
