Time to hunt and open water are getting scarce for me. Few birds around this morning though

Easier to shoot that way! By the time we were done, they were quite frozen!

Been an awesome week of having (what seams like) the entire county to myself. Seriously though, seeing very few birds but the ones I do see are suicidal, coupled with good shooting.

Tried some mallard breasts a little different tonight. Fileted individual breasts in half to create 2 thinner breast filets. Lightly floured and seasoned with Tony Chach creole and into super hot peanut oil for minute or 2 per side. I found that if you leave the breasts hole the outside gets burned while the inside is still really rare. Fileted you get nice crispy on the outside while still rare to med rare inside. As always to the "tenders" separate. Yum

Went scouting this morning, figured out where some ducks and geese have been going and still had enough time to get on the water for a couple hours.

    One shot one duck.

Passed on some hen buffleheads, a couple ruddy ducks and hen hooded mergansers.
