Here's the top five in use by African guides, apparently the .458 Lott is a real show stopper

Any guide worth his salt in Africa will leave the shotgun and take the 375 H&H any time.....I know a guy who's guide was ate up by a leopard after they shot it with 10 gauge with 00 buck.

Don't know if this real. Charging Grizzly (?) stopped and killed with shotgun.

Kill video so be aware if you watch.

    Very nice gun.

But I think I might have paid too much for it.

I have hunted in Africa and I can tell you with certainty that a PH will almost always use a shotgun to follow up on a Leopard. But a bad shot is a bad shot, by the way people get tore up but not eaten by leopards. For lions yes 375 or up.

I was willed my buddies Python in 4 inch blue and it disappeared along with a bunch of other firearms, some classic, I was willed by other heirs (unknown) who ransacked his house.

I recently sold a nice 4in model 19. I purchased a 686-plus but that lock drove me nuts every time I looked at it so I sent it down the road too. Picked up a sp101 4in and its a joy to carry all day compared to heavier revolvers.
