    I love that chunk of desert!!!!
    I do think it is strange that all the public land to the north and west is open

    Turns into mountains on the other side of that road. Not too many critters wintering up that way so I guess they don't worry about it like the do their wintering areas.

    Dubois to Spencer to Kilgore (sorta) is desert. I think it remains open because their is mix of private lands and early spring grazing north of Camas ans NE of Dubois.
    The Spencer Kilgore road has the Mts. but mostly private on the lowlands near the road.
