So a recent bill was passed in the Senate making it illegal for cities to ban people from having 6 or fewer backyard chickens.
What about HOA's? Can they still stop you from having chickens?

On the NextDoor app, People in adjoining communities are complaining about roosters crowing. Don't know if their deed restrictions ban chickens or not. I know ours is a long list but they left out pigs.

What is the worst they can do,give you a letter telling you to remove the chicken?????
I would go for it,just don't make a big deal out of having a few hens, you don't need a rooster, the hens don't make much noise.

You can be bound by your HOA but a lot of that can also be state dependent. Our HOA actually allows up to 6 chickens but our city ordinance forbids any of them being roosters. You don't want the damn roosters anyways. They make too much noise and try to chase you, the kids and the dogs around.......
