Banded Birds 2017-18 season.

    I did look for a toe tag, but I don't think it had one. At least I don't see one in this picture. It was dark when I removed the bands and cleaned the birds so maybe. At this point there is no going back to check though.

    I wonder if the snow and Brant were captured together in a big round up banding event. Interesting to hear about another bird banded with the same information harvested pretty close to the same day thousands of miles from where they were banded. Waterfowl migration is incredible.

    Lesser Snow, banded in Alaska, July 2012 , it was to young to fly. Shot last Thursday

    Shot today near Cordelia, banded in August of 2014, at least a year old when banded,
    Banded near Fairview, Alberta Canada

    First Brant came with a zip tie can't get much closer than that to a real band

    Interesting. Yes, that is a bird which escaped from a captive pen when a gosling from some captive grazing studies. Looks like they have had a few escapees from the reports I've been getting.
