Look closely and you can see the International Space Station passing the sun's face...

The International Space Station is 254 miles from Earth.

The moon is 238,900 miles from Earth.

The sun is 92,960,000 miles from Earth.

I took this picture, while camping.
Does anyone know what the image with the orange glow around it is ?
Zoom in to see it better. 20170821_095205.jpg

I think I lied. Venus would have been upper right from the eclipsed sun. I think that is just a plain old garden variety star.

You did lie. It's a reflection of the eclipsed sun. Google "lens flare."

Lens flare or lens orb. Shows the eclipse kind of like the image you see from a pinhole camera
