I just think you get a different perspective from interacting with people who you like than you do from people you don't like.

I'd say well over half (probably closer to 90%) of my family is Democrats. I've got friends i'm pretty sure vote left, but I like them so I choose not to even ask. Ignorance is bliss. My more vocal family and I haven't spoken to each other in a few months. They are the rabid left, resist, impeach, bring down Trump at all costs by any means crowd.

I know a ton of Dems from here, but they aren’t really “Dems”, like the deranged end. Just old union bubbas. The Dems I know in HSV are typically deranged. I like some of them usually, when politics aren’t brought up. Most all my real friends here lean rightish to full blown right. Bodecker, my 86 YO neighbor, is a hardcore R, but a former D. Northern transplant.

Then I’m ha going my answer I only like the people who aren’t democrats. The democrats in my neighborhood are a bunch of hoa nazis that turn in guys for parking duck boats in front of the house and little girls for having their pink bikes in the driveway (literally got an hoa letter for that with photo)

And half the conservative neighbors have spoiled liberal kids. That’s the kicker.

What a coincidence, the conservatives in my area all have ankle bracelets and are on ancestor.com looking for dates instead of a job.

Seriously though, i have not been shallow enough to determine a friend by their political or religious beliefs.... Either they are good people or not, know right from wrong, etc.. Now that being said, there were a couple that exposed themselves as a sky screaming liberal and a hat wearing torch bearer... we do not chat very often since late 16 early 17.
