Has any one used the Pancake downrigger weights before? I just use the basic ball weights. They say that the Pancake weights have less drag and tracks straighter then round ones. Not sure it makes that much difference but thought I'd ask. Thanks

They are good and do track quite well with less blow back if you are fishing in waters with very little current but if you have alot of current and it is crosswise to you then look out. They can spin or track way orff to the side and create one hell of a tangle with any other riggers and lines. Here on the great lakes most guys are using the standard round rigger balls.

Thanks for the comeback Fozzbear! Not much or no current on or Lake Oahe/Missouri River here in SD. I usually let my round rigger balls down another 6inches or so to compensate the drag on them from the water to hit the depth I'm targeting. Just thought that using the Pancake ones would eliminate me having to do that.
