Bufflehead - Buffalohead, just to pi$$ off my hunting partners
Blue heron , mugamby or goose flying backwards
Bald eagle, bald headed buzzard
Haha we call grackles duck flying backwards
Only nicknames I use are when hunting with people who aren’t the best at id’ing at distances. You know the guys, a flock of birds 800 yards out and the instinctively call ducks coming.
I look and say only 3 things:
____birds...vast majority of all birds
Tiltazzes: flocks of shorebirds
What’s better is when they correctly ID ducks and you say “nope, ____birds”... then they stop paying attention to them and you get to shoot at em first. Real handy for the guys that like to jump up 5 seconds too soon before the shot is called.
That would work except I don’t hunt with anybody that I don’t let shoot first. I’m goofy that way. Vast majority of folks I take only hunt a couple times a season and they suck.
I let them know what good of shots they are after the dog brings my birds back.
So basically you take n00bs so you can shoot their limits. Nice strategy.
That is illegal
