Started 15 Mar at my river property. Started 31 Mar around my house. Been 4 times and still haven’t had one close enough to shoot. Busted one off the roost before daylight one morning setting up. Saw 6 Sunday, but no joy.

Jealous. I can’t even get out tag wise til late April. You totally should have limb jacked the one you busted off the roost. Just over the border from me the Missouri boys would have given him a .223 salute.

For fresh water fishing, catch and release bass is pure fun. For the surf, catching and eating... go for halibut.

@API it’s been years since I’ve caught one, but as I recall, there were few things more fun (or more frustrating) than sight fishing for corbina in the SoCal surf. They ranked pretty high on the “good eats” list too.

Pike, musky, largemouth, and smallmouth. Oddball lure presentations, like a 20 bladed umbrella rig with a custom painted hardbody swimbait running behind it to catch the fish. Also have a 16 bladed chandelier rig that had a hardbody striper colored swimbait running behind it, caught me a 46-48" probably 30lb musky this fall.
Rigged up a 4 bladed umbrella rig that has 4 number 8 willows on it, talk about massive flash and vibration, should be interesting to see if she works.
Bought some of the savage gear 16" line through trout that I'll be casting as well, a truly massive bait, and 24oz. I've been throwing their 12" for a bit, they are spectacular baits, very lifelike.

Unfortunately no pictures, I abhor taking pictures.
