I've seen a number of post from the NE opener so I thought I'd share some picture from mine. I hunted with my son Brayden and 2 good friends Jeffery and Brad. We hunted in Big Valley near Ash Creek. Jeffery and I drove up from San Jose Thursday night to do some scounting while Brayden drove in from Utah friday night.

Jeffery and I found a few hundred geese using a bit of sheet water in one of the fields. We found a place to set up and went to work grassing up our layout blinds. It took about and hour but it was well worth the time. The first pictures are or our blinds.

Our cover and spot ended up great. We ended the morning hunt with 3 Honkers and 12 ducks. Most of them were young mallards. We went to the Frosty for a burger and then set up on the edge of a rice field for an afternoon shoot. The flight was a little slow but we ended up with 2 more honkers and a few more mallards.

On Sunday morning we were joined by Brad. He spent most of Saturday looking for a buck. He was successful so he joined us for a quick hunt. The flight was much slower but we managed to get 2 more honkers, a few specks and a few more ducks

We hunted until about 9:30 Sunday morning and called it a day. Brayden wanted to get back to school and we had a long drive ahead of us. We ended the weekend with 7 honkers, 2 specks and 22 ducks.

Looks like an awesome time, but I may need to stretch it out to a week with success like that.
