Went to my office about noon and had the following excited voicemail message:

"Been working on the blind this weekend and have a duck report for ya. Yesterday, saw no ducks. Today, there are 300 bluewings flying around. Catahoula Lake. First sighting."

Sounds like Clayton's prediction was spot on.

Low 80s today with a nice east wind which is rare. Ran the chainsaw for 5 hours.

It hit here as advertised. Some temperature drop with an 8 mph NE wind and a signification drop in humidity. That won't won't last long, but conditions favor another 'cold' front in a week.

If Buck Master's graph follows the calendar end of Summer as end of September, then what?
First Snowflakes are expected the 1st of December?

The Calendar is a little skewed here.
By my reckoning, my first unofficial/official day of Autumn is the first of September regardless of Temps or dates.
Has been ever since we moved to E Idaho, and conditions seldom let me down.
Some time during the 1st week of September a cool storm blows in and tends to knock the teeth out of Summer, unless it does so before that time! You can almost set your watch by it!
I have hunted ducks and geese the 1st weekend of October in snowstorms! Not often, but it has happened just often enough to be of note.

Last time I remember snow in east-central Illinois in October was the late 80's.

The calendar is based off our local posted by the NWS.
