I use Experts and have been well pleased with performance and price. Now they are offering a #2/#3 combo shell. Is this shell gonna perform well, or will the imbalance in shot size screw up the pattern?

    MM...out!

It would be worth patterning them and trying some on some birds. 2's and 3's are my preferred shot on most ducks. I will be looking to see if I can pick up a box or two of the combo.

I would try them. I liked the old Remington duplex shells. They had about 3 combos, BBs&1s, 2s4s that I remember.

So there will be NO Change to what shot size there is in their shells ? Sounds to me like , a good marketing ploy though !
There's very little difference with this idea , IF you like'm , keep shooting them ! Please use the patterning board to find the difference !

Xperts already have varying shot sizes with a few odd size pellets per shell. It's probably just a way to keep the shells cheap and not have to sift shot sizes or something. Or, it could be to stop people from complaining about the already varying shot sizes. I've never cared about the odd pellets in them, they kill and that's all that matters.

Shells with shot that isn't round or polished smooth along with basturd sizes just don't pattern very good ! Especially if you pattern these loads at
the normal distance you shoot your birds ? Lesser quality steel shot in some offerings are not annealed soft enough and could damage your barrel or
if any moisture is preasant , turn that loose payload into a Gun Distroying Slug of rust ......But , they kill ducks if they're close enough !

Old wives tale. Rust has almost zero cohesive attributes.
