Millet is looking good also. Will provide some early migrants a meal. Fingers crossed for some rain tomorrow night.

We’ve been needing a rain for 2 weeks, not just for a duck hole but several more acres.

We have hunted bean fields in the Mississippi Delta and the shooting was fabulous for the first hour. The problem is you can’t hide very well, sittin’ on a five gallon ain’t good.

We have an 80 acre WRP project 1/2 mile from the Mississippi and 1/2 from the mouth of the Des Moines river. We can’t plant much corn so our food source is Smartweed. Millet and Barnyard grass. Before season we pull a weighted cattle panel behind a wheeler. We’ve done this for 9 years now and it works great for us, and cheap. We have a board in but it’s as dry as a popcorn fart here.

We got 1" in NW Missouri and desperately needed that. I know you all needed it even worse so hopefully you got all that and more.

Two boards in and flap gate down. Gonna put a little skinny water on. Will see what we can catch with the rains today and tomorrow and then supplement as needed with pumping before 9/8 opener. Will check on progress weekend of Labor Day.
