Just a reminder with all this heat coming the next few days. Remember to keep our friends with fur coats cool too.

I refill the kiddie pool at the shop twice a day on hot days. They stay cooler than I do.

I had to put a toque and a fall jacket on last night while fishing on the river up here. Temp was 11C (around 51 F) with a breeze and drizzling rain. Caught about 40 walleye though.....:grvn

My 11 year old golden Cody is sick and this heat is not helping. The forecast for next week is going to be really tough on him. He's lived in the heat his whole life every summer but this will be different. We'll see how it works out.

Took my old gal in to the groomer for a scrubbing and a de-thatching. She gets to stay inside for a few days.

Thanks for the good words, but Cody won't be getting better. He's 60 days in to a Lymphoma death sentence. His stamina is shot and the heat is making it tough on him. He's still happy and doing OK, but I am not looking forward to the rest of the journey. Still going on walks and short bumper tosses, but tough to watch my old boy go down. My heart was broken after the diagnosis and many walks had me tearing up. On a happier note, in January we brought home a beautiful Golden pup we named Ruby. She is up at the Bunkhouse learning the finer aspects of being a duck dog and putting some pretty around all those black labs:l

IMG_0937.JPG Sorry to hear about Cody. For Father's Day, we had one of Cal's pups over named Hank. Couldn't keep the pup out of the water.
