I blew my 2000 Suzuki 40 4 stroke and replaced it with an E-tech 40. I took the Mac’s off my old motor but when I went to mount it on my E-tech if I position it so the prop saver fits up tight to the bottom of the skeg the prop won’t clear. I had no issues with this on my old motor.
I could move the Mac’s further down the skeg and the prop will clear and I have enough skep left to mount the unit. It is a size B Mac’s unit which is supposed to fit a 35hp-75hp.
Are there any potential problems with mounting it this way?

Don't over-think this, Gander. Mount it however it fits.

I hear you, just concerned as when I move it down one of the mounting bolts gets pretty close to the edge of the skeg. I wouldn’t want the skep to snap if it is too thin

I understand. But, if you're running in water that requires a RiverRunner, then you're just naturally going to be risking breakage regardless.
We do all we can to reduce the risk, then we just go with it.

True. I called Mac’s hoping to get some info. Mac has passed away and the business is under transition.
    Thanks

Nope. Line it up the best it fits and you'll be good to go.

I've used mine on 3 different motors. It fit each one a little differently but worked flawlessly on all of them.
