I’m gonna miss the people out there. 43 years of hunting that place and it’s going to Hell the sea is disappearing and so are the birds

My old lady ever leaves me I'll be moving to a free state as well.
Montana is on my list along with Idaho, Wyoming and Utah.
Best of luck to you in Montana!

I still get to Niland a couple times during the winter to run field trials down there. I hunted Wister in the 70's.Knew and hunted with Max Berg.
    Where is Ronan? :)

I live in St Ignatius now. Left Cali for Oregon and here we are 28 years later

    Bill,

Congrats....It takes a lot for such a big move.

I love it here in Montana, but Cali still calls.....Been here since Sept. 2nd (and Canada), the hunting can't get much better....Although, upland is in a down year....This was my SIL's take in one day here in Great Falls area (my 7 ducks...lol)

My daughter lives in Billings and her boyfriend (I am thinking future son-in-law) grew up in and still lives in Fromberg. She spends a lot of time there. They both work at a mine in the Stillwater River valley outside of Nye. That's small town America where you are, which is probably a refreshing thing after living in California. I have told the wife over the years that I wouldn't mind moving farther into the sticks than the Coeur d'Alene area but she's not having any. :l I love Montana. Traveled it extensively for 18 years for work. Now I travel it for fun.

    Congratulations on your move.

Ronan is 56 mi north of Missoula and 15 mi south of Polson. It's in the heart of Mission Valley at the western base of Mission Mtns. It' now referred to as Retriever Paradise due to the # of pros and top amateurs that own property there and train there in the summer to get out of hot summers where they live(ie CA, AZ, TX). The Valley hosts 5-6 trials from June-Oct. Lots of open field w/ good cover(no thistles), marshes, ponds, small lakes for training.
