Nasty Shotgun Round

    I didn't know these existed. I have heard of cannon balls being chained together during the War of Northern Aggression. Mean arse ballistics.

    I well recall wired shot back in the refuge firing line days. Some called them "whistlers" due to the sound as they flew through the air. Strange to see a goose flying along a hundred yards up suddenly turn into two different pieces and fall to the ground.

    Up in Henderson Co KY I remember them using something similar with small bomb weights and piano wire and they called them Zingers because when fired they had a ZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG sound. Not a very accurate load but what ever it hit it brought down

    I've occasionally heard that sound on our local refuge during the waterfowl season. Never could figure out what created it. Thanks for the information.

    Pretty sure if you get caught using it, you will be up the brown creek.
