So next, high powered optics and rifles? Can't use modern hunting clothing now, because it allows us to brave the elements in a way none of the pioneers could have ever imagined, that's unfair. Oh, that semi auto-shotgun gives you an unfair advantage, everyone should have a single shot, that gives the birds a fair chance to get away! Shotgun shells can shoot over 1500 FPS, WHAT!!! Unfair! who needs a mud motor? That's unfair. Modern bows and sights, unfair advantage... hey, plastic realistic decoys? Unfair! Google earth? Unfair. It goes on and on...

When duck hunters talk like the know what's up with big game hunting, I think baby Jesus cries.

    Public land guides still suck.

I'm going to paint with a broad brush, because this is the internet. If you don't live a primitive lifestyle, meaning that your hunting is 100% primitive in the aspect of transportation, weaponry and clothing... but take a stand against modern technology or pick and choose which modern conveniences are acceptable for you and not others. I think you're a hypocrite.

No real change on private land. This is a public lands/resource issue.

So by your statement it appears that anything goes, because if you don't make your own arrows and points, it's all good. I doubt in the long run that will turn out well. Imagine what a creative person could do with a drone e.g.

Everyone has their own ethical lines concerning fair chase. Some fall within the laws, some are more restrictive, some aren’t. Hypocrisy doesn’t come into play. We all hunt for our own reasons. We all think our way is right.
