I have been having an excellent ice fishing season this year. We have absolutely been slaying crappies. As far as I'm concerned the only way to go is fried. The problem being the queen of the castle is getting tired of fried crappies. Babbling on about health and whatnot. I tried oven baked a few different ways and every way I've tried has sucked. I figured since this place is full of fellers who's pant size can fit 2 of me, I may find an solution to my issue. What say you boys, is there an alternative to fried that doesnt suck ?

Fried is good but try this too...spray a multi cavity muffin tins of with Pam. Line each muffin tins cavity with a crappie fillet. Fill the cavity with seasoned stuffing mix in bake around 10-15 minutes until fillets are cooked. Allow 2-3 "cakes" per person. Easy to cook and pretty healthy....

Fried crappie is second best to fried yellow perch after pulled from the ice.

yellow perch out of the ice is just about the best eating fish one could ever ask for. Folllowed closely by bluegills/crappie out of the ice and then walleye out of the ice.
