I'm meeting up with half a dozen guys to tailgate at the stadium before we go in to see the NFL playoff game. We're all in our early 50's and went to high school together. Is it appropriate to bring 2 pairs of gloves and 1 pair of headgear to have some informal boxing at our tailgating spot? We all played sports in high school. I've been boxing with a heavy bag for about 4 months, no sparring with any other person.

Only appropriate if you video it also.

Only one set of headgear? For your opponent? You that certain they won't touch you?

There are 4 gloves (2 left, 2 right) and 2 headgears. The gloves and headgear are identical, just different colors.

Got it. When you said 1 pair of headgear I thought one piece of gear. Not a set of two.

In all seriousness stay away from low body shots after alcohol consumption. When the liver is taxed from trying to remove alcohol from the blood stream, it can rupture more easily.

Most tailgates Ive been to most people didn't bother with gloves or headgear.

In all seriousness my biggest worry would be azz hats coming up and wanting to spar (with our without gear). I grew up in the NE, the scene is quite uncivilized.

Only if you want someone in the ER with severe injuries and somebody else up on assault charges. Who would do such a thing?

Sparring at tailgates is a thing? Been a while since I was at a college or pro game. You are actually telling me local police permit it to happen?

No it is not appropriate. What you trying to do, show off? You've been practicing. Did you guys box each other in high school? Sounds kinda high schoolish to me.
