Couple of years behind you. Awesome to still be hunting at 12. Nice looking dog. I hope this guy will still be going at that age. He is a fire burner. All go. Definitely starting to stiffen up after the hunt. This year, is all about the rice, and some easy retrieves. Wee wee ducks beware.

Dawgs- the reason why many of us hunt. Nice post. IMG_1473.PNG

    enzinn, what a picture. Classic!

Lost the big boy in my avatar almost two years ago now. Looking to get a pup out of a litter dropping in the spring.

It's not the drive, it's the wear and tear...my 12 1/2 boy will run till he drops. Fell over 4 times last Wednesday but still came up with a chicken. He doesn't limp quite as bad today as he did yesterday, but it's been a week! In his mind, he's 2. Body, not so much... 20171115_110808.jpg

Great shot - the holy trinity! The body says "no" but the mind and the nose says "go". He looks like he has the heart of the hunt in him.

Brutal, flood or ebb? He's fighting it one way or the other.

Old dogs... what can be said that adequately describes the feelings they stir up in us? Just looking at them sleeping can bring back years of memories.
Old hunting dogs...They are the most pure and honest creatures on earth.
