Made a quick run before work this morning. What a beautiful day to be out. Crisp air, good dog work, and birds a flushing.

Agreed. Nice cool weather felt good AND finally enough ice to walk on...mostly.

Got 2 yesterday but skunked today.

Took a while but had a great finish to the morning. I know one landowner that will be getting another round of fish and sausage this winter. 93056F21-57DA-4CC1-AAE4-A80ACB47E9EA.jpeg 991B04B7-BE9A-4D30-8835-31130F4985C7.jpeg

Went Deer hunting along the lake shore first thing. Saw one but couldn’t get a bead on it. Seen Black ducks, mallards, mergansers, eagles and a few thousand geese.

Changed barrels and Took Tucker for a walk on public land. Found two sets of pheasant tracks and followed them. Flushed two, a hen and a rooster.

Did a stalk on about 71 turkeys while wearing orange. Crawled to within 25yrds. Got two.

This is the look your dog gives you when you whiff the first time in 3 days worth of hunting. She’s not too happy with me right now.

8FB3FDDC-CA82-4887-B265-5DD084AFAFB3.jpeg Three full mornings of hunting. I’ve put on 13.5 miles, I bet she’s around 40 miles. Her feet are getting pretty beat up, going to need a couple of days off. And yet I bet if I grabbed her vest right now she’d jump off the couch and be ready to go.

This was our second rooster today. Just as I was snapping the camera a rooster cackled. I had to laugh when he spun his head! :l

Pulled the plug before I even left the house today. Freezing fog on the roads isn’t something I feel like messing with for a short hunt before work. Sucks because the sent conditions would be great today.
