Put up this one and got it. Put up another hit it hard but couldn't find it. I lost one Saturday too. Goose will be 6 tomorrow and those are the first two birds we couldn't find. Pretty good all in all, and I know it happens to everyone, but man I sure hate when that happens.

Today is Gooses' 6th Birthday. So I made two pheasant sandwiches, one for each of us. We went hunting and put up one bird but didn't get a shot. After a 45 minute walk, I put my back up against a tree in the sun and we ate our sandwiches. Another half hour walk we put up and got this guy.

What a great day! Off to go sit in a tree next.

Nice pic!!! Was n ND the last week. It was nice to see the sharptail and pheasant population up. Went a few years with out seeing any. This year they were like bees. Hoping they have a great hatch.

Me and Elvis gonna get out for a run this afternoon.
    Anyone free?

I have snacks for after the hunt.
Nice Honduran / Maduro smoke (Rocky Patel 2nds) and a flask of Makers Mark.

Quick morning. Took longer to drive to the spot than to shoot out. My lead on the hen was a little short and thus destroyed any chance of a yummy meal from her.

1538AF6A-9417-4F79-A2EA-D687F650BDE5.jpeg I went out to work with my pup Lucie at the kennel last night, so I made a quick pass through Brillion WA with everyone else. Walked for about 45 mins and Reece got birdy 2-3 times but no birds. So far I have gotten her out 5 times this year and she has 3 rooster retrieves to show for it. Definitely getting my money's worth out of that stamp...

Nice to see someone put an offer like that out there. Sometimes late in the season I get over that way. I'll have to give you a shout.

    How'd you do?

I remember 6 to 8 years ago it wasn't rare to offer up a combined hunt, something like "Short notice goose or duck hunt, anyone want to join".

Well after yesterday’s quick hunt this morning was 2 hours of walking for zero flushes. It was beautiful out tho.
