The old saying used to go like this, “Practice makes perfect”. This is one of the most clever lies the world could ever have come up with. Deep inside every believer has to come to terms with the term perfection. How would you describe it? God told us this in his word. Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. God can not allow imperfection into his Kingdom. If it were not so then he would cease to be perfect. So how are we made perfect? Some in today’s religious views they have come to an idea that if they practice perfectly perfection will be imparted to them. This sets leaves God as a type of “backup plan”. They view grace as a way to cover over what they have not yet been able to accomplish. Much like a subcontractor would be hired to bring a better set of skills to building their house. If you know what I am saying, repent from your self made attempts to become perfect. Allow your faith to rest in the one that is Perfect. Our Lord Jesus! His perfect atonement for those who have come to faith in Him.
