seiowa , my season here starts in Sept , and runs into Jan. and I've swatted plenty of sketters in Dec.with snow on the ground . We are farther south than parts of California . I've hunted in a T-shirt in Nov.

I keep 2 of those energizer headlamps with me. One on my head and one in the bag. I wait for them to go on sale at walmart in the 2 pack and buy a couple. If i use it 5 times and lose it im not out much.

No one has mentioned personal anti freeze. Whiskey, Vodka, etc.. and cold beer on warm days to keep from over heating.:clap

Eye drops or artificial tears. I have eye issues to begin with. But getting something in your eye out in the marsh is awful.

If you wear glasses you may want to try prescription safety glasses. I got some for shooting to keep powder blowback and the harsh salt winds out of my eyes. One of the best investments I have made.

Zip ties and bamboo poles and some brushing material I can have you a hell of a blind in less that an hour.

 Who needs a lighter? A friend and I got stranded on an island by the falling tide while it was snowing, we used some gas from and extra tank and a flare gun. :z :z :z
