Riv nuts

    It is almost impossible to successfully weld aluminum 1/4-20 nuts. At least, not with the common GTAW or GMAW processes.

    Good looking bracket and use of riv nuts, I like the socket head cap screws. However I do not need a riser bracket, I have a flat surface right on the bow for a TM mount. I also don't want to put on anything extra with sharp corners that I could snag my waders on.
    Appreciate all of the info fellas, I always like to see and hear what others are doing on their rigs.

    If you plan on taking it off during hunting season I recommend a quick release bracket. Mount it once and be done, then remove or replace your trolling motor as needed without messing with the mounting bolts and such. They're pretty cheap, rock solid, and easy to operate. You can also use it to mount lights or whatever when the trolling motor is removed.
