Got the girls all excited for some decoy action. They painted a decoy each back before last season. So, figured we'd enter those. One decoy each and 10 for me.
Here are their decoys. The wood duck was painted by a 3 year old and the brant by a 5 year old. They have both had birthdays since painting.

Pretty excited to find them on the table. We had to have someone else register as we could only come one day, not 2 days.

Came back after lunch and they found they had ribbons on their decoys. They were the proudest people in the entire decoy show!

Lots of fun activities at the show!

And we did good as a family. 9 ribbons and 5 medals between the 3 of us! The 2 hour drive was all about talking, learning to carve and painting more!

But, we did have to hustle home to go swimming and do chores! When we went over Donner Summit at 6am, it was 40 degrees. When we left Sacramento, it was 102!!

My 2 brant decoys got nothing!! But, I was up against Pinches, Herbert, and Banco. I'll work over the year to get to 10% of the magic the brant master, Del Herbert can do!

Chris, good to see the girls getting started at a young age. The picture of them with their ribbons is priceless!!!! Pinches and Banco seem to come up to washington every year with their brant decoys and clean up on the ribbons. Is the brant block you posted yours?
