So how much detergent do you use instead of surfactant per gallon?
It dosen't take much. Teaspoon of Dawn to 2.5 gal is what I use.
Use an adjuvant too. Ammonium Sulfate.
I can tell you that dawn isn’t that great. Don’t remember which chemical I was spraying, but dawn had a reaction and plugged the sprayer. Crop oil is cheap and I have never had that issue with it.
A surfactant makes water wetter, eg. the droplets don’t sit on the leaf rather spread out thus giving more complete coverage. Ammonium Sulfate is an important additive. Dawn will work good if you don’t use too much.
I use .75 per gallon blue dawn never had issue w glypho or 2.4D
Also they suggest 2.5% on the round up for canary grass but doesn't seem to have the knock out power. What % is everyone else using? Driving down county roads and it looks like it was nuked so not sure if they spend our money wisely and go with a higher % than recommended. Thanks!
I use 5%, but I owned a Farm Supply and kept 15-30 gallon drums of Roundup when I sold the business. 5% will toast Canary Grass waist high. That dam stuff is hard to control and will get away from you if you don’t keep at it.
