Well... First time in 10+ years I haven't seen a single teal opening morning. I didn't even hear a shot in the river bottoms...

    How did everyone else fair?

Pretty bleak in NWMO. Not many around. What we had last week must have left with the front early in the week.

Didn't see any teal but plenty of wood ducks in the spread.

Gave Eagle Bluffs a try Saturday morning. Probably 30 or so parties at the registration at 4am, got a spot in a pool that was holding birds earlier in the week but the teal weren't interested on Saturday. Was covered up with wood ducks all morning but only had a few small groups of teal come by, no shots fired for me.

Plenty of shooting the first 20 minutes or so, after that it was pretty slow. When I turned my card in at 9:30 the GW said they had only checked in about 20 birds, and they had not seen anyone with a limit.

I didn't go. Instead spent the morning working at the duck lake. Heard some shooting in the bottoms but they might have been shooting at wood ducks ;) The mosquitos were impressive, to say the least!

I hunted at Truman lake. There were a couple on the cove we hunted before shooting time. Didn't see one after shooting time. Just generally bad all over I guess.

We had a pretty decent opener , not like normal but still plenty of activity in NWMO . Water is definitely an issue with the drought we've had this year !!! For sure not one of our better openers but we still had a great weekend getting out with family another year !!!!
