    Head east..... waaaay east... Turkeys everywhere here in the Albany NY area. You can shoot them out of the cemeteries around here...

    Anybody hunt N IL opener today ? Bet it was fun with the snow...

    No snow here. It was frosty, though. Birds were sounding off but didn't see any. Had to leave at 9A. Will be leaving shortly for day two.

    No Turkeys harmed this year. Saturday the only turkey I saw was a hen that I spooked off the roost. I only heard one gobble and that was at 7:40. I tried to set up on him but he went quiet after I got set up. Not sure why they were so quiet. Sunday was a washout and I did not hunt. Yesterday I saw 3 gobblers and they were gobbling till about 9:30. I had two hang up on me at just over 100 yards. They didn't want to leave the field edge and come into the woods. Problem is the field is private property that I don't have permission on. The woods are public. Oh well it was still an exciting weekend.

    Day Two was a repeat of Day One. Lots of gobbling till about 06:30, then pretty much silence. No birds seen. Did hear 3 quick shots at about 07:45, not that far away.

    I got it done today ay 6:45.
    Old bird.Long spurs 1 1/4.
    10 3/4 beard.
    My scale only reads to 25lbs.
    It was a couple more I'd guess.
