    Shot one about 20 years ago. It had an antenna that made the hen have a drake pin. Never turned it in. Had a phone number on it, I called and they sent me a copy of all the tracking data. It now resides on a wood duck mount that I have.

    I heard a story of a hunter that shot a cow Roosevelt Elk in Del Norte County last year that had a collar on her neck. CDFW tracked it to his garage in Merced and they were not amused so the story went. It was legal to shoot the elk but not to keep the collar.
