I have a revolver that I'd like to carry while I am backpacking. What kind of holster and where should I carry it for safety and accessibility?

Some Back pack waist belts are designed for a standard belt holster. Wilderness Pack Specialty's has a good design. Military leg holsters can be an option also.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll get the chest holster.

There's a few others on the market, think the Diamond D is about the best though.

I like the Serpa for sure.
Back country though I like the idea of being able to carry a very large wheel gun, which I don't think they make the Serpas to fit.

Love my Diamond D chest rigs, I have 1 for my wheel gun and 1 for my 45 that also fits my Ruger 22 auto and my Keltec PMR30

However you choose to carry, ensure that dumping a pack/gear to stay alive, doesn't mean dumping your sidearm....

I like belt rigs personally, but El Paso Saddlery makes some really good shoulder rigs.
