Looking to buy a new shotgun and I can get both of these guns for close to the same price. Other than the wood stock on the Browning, are there any major differences in the two guns?

Not much, they're pretty much the same gun with the same internal workings.

Correct. Only difference is the SX3 seems to be a tad lighter in weight. I own a Browning Silver in MOSG. I'm enjoying the gun very much. Zero problems.:tu

I have also heard that mechanically they are very similar...

The SX-3 feels slightly different to me, and although the LOP is supposed to be the same, the SX-3 feels shorter and more comfortable to me... Could be in my head though (along with the voices):nutz.

Pick em' both up, and go with the one that fits you the best.

Both the same gun, shoulder both and see what fits best, and yes, they are both awesome guns! I have a Silver and think it's great! Whatever your choice, you will be happy.

I can't say about the Browning, but the SX3 guns myself and several of my duckin' partners shoot have been very good guns for us and some of us shot the SX2 before that.
    Can't go wrong, IMO.

They are very similar, but obviously not exactly the same. It seems that there are alot more reliability complaints with the Maxus than the SX3. Not sure why that is. I own 2 SX3's, and couldn't be happier with them.

I own 2 SX2's and 1 SX3, and would buy another if I needed one, no complaints here from either X2 or X3.
