“ Oh Lord my God when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds Thy hands have made. I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed.”

    Psalm 142

1 (Maschil of David; A Prayer when he was in the cave.) I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication.

2 I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.

3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

5 I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

6 Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

7 Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

In the last few months and as recent as Monday, I have been mentoring, disciplining or asked to give my testimony on how GOD changed my life to a few men that are seeking more or in the mist of troubled times. First of all, I want to say thank you Father GOD for my trial that through You, has changed my life for Your glory and forever. The second thing is how it tears me up to see the hurt, the lack of joy, no peace and issue after issue when we are not walking with Christ as our first and main focus. I just want to say this. The devil is a liar.

My prayer is that these men either first find Christ as their LORD and Saviour or the ones that do know Him personally find the path through His Word and a prayer life that with draw them nigh to our GOD.

Today in my Bible reading plan, we read Genesis 45 were Joseph tells his brothers that he is their brother Joseph. GOD orchestrated all of this for His glory and to show us that even though you may be in a trial, mistreated, deceived by your own family, GOD always wins if we have faith and live for Him. Faith gets us through our trials.

David a man after GOD’s own heart understood this faith. David was crying to GOD when he was in the cave. Do we praise Him only in the bad times or in the good times too? David complained to GOD and was able to because he had a true relationship with His Father GOD. Do we have that same relationship?

David presented his issues to GOD in this chapter. He then lifts up his petitions or needs and then promises his thanksgiving when GOD answers him. David was overwhelmed and desperate and when he felt defeated by his enemies and in the cave he knew that GOD was the only one that will keep him safe. He was David’s refuge.

He prayed his cry to GOD and through prayer, he was pulled out of his time in the pit of his life and that he was reminded again that GOD cares for him deeply. This is true for us also today. Allow GOD to hear our cry, let Him bring our soul out of prison so that we may praise His name.

We all have prisons in our lives, David in the cave surely seemed like a prison cell for him as he was hiding from Saul. It might be addictions, a real prison cell, health issues our own desires that take over us and makes us trapped like in a prison. However, GOD releases us so that we may praise His name, to become righteous and he shall deal bountifully with us.

Faith is not to get us around our trials, but to get us through them. There is nothing in which faith will not get us comfort from GOD by praying to Him. “ Cry out to the LORD, Thou art my refuge.”

Happy Valentines Day to you all! Today is not only Valentines Day but for many its Wednesday night and that means church services. Seek a good Bible preaching church with your family or friends and Cry out to GOD and ask for His refuge, praise His name and give Him all the glory.
