Your go-to American ham recipe

    I am really thinking of making an American style ham. Say a 7 pounder. Anyone care to share their favorite (non-smoked) recipe? And whether one could use that same recipe to make a smoked version (if I decide to give that a try). Thanks!

    I keep ham fairly simple. It's too damn good to mess around with. Pineapple juice, sprite, and some brown sugar. The brown sugar is how come it tastes so good. I say yeah, yeah, yeah...

    Do you mix that for a glaze ? or marinade ? Share recipe .:tu

    It's a glaze. Score the ham into checkerboard, add a clove to each square (or every other, if you don't want as much clove flavor), and pour over your glaze. Put in oven. I did layer one in pineapple rings/donuts and cherries in each hole once. That was good too. There are numerous recipes out there like I speak of for a glaze. I just google it to get the ratios when I start. Ham is one of those things I could eat many different ways, and not give a tinkers damn. It's always good! :yes
